As soon as you walk through the door you smell the aroma of wood and pizza and you see our authentic Naples Made Wood Burning Oven and you know this is more than just another pizzeria – it’s an
experience.

About

The origin of pizza has been debated for years but on the whole Naples, Italy is considered the birthplace of modern pizza. Our desire is to prepare a pizza according to the traditions of the Naples region.

It starts with our Oven, built-in Naples, Italy, and extends to the flour, San Marzano tomatoes, olive oil pulled mozzarella cheese which we use in our signature pizzas. We have created a light slightly charred pizza that entices the pallet with freshness and complementary flavors.

At Red Oven, we are preserving the tradition of making Craft Neapolitan pizza. Come and Enjoy.

History

Built in 1886, this 2 story building started out as a bakery and served the local residents until around 1949. The Nemnich family operated the bakery from its beginning until around 1942.

Some remodeling and an addition were added around 1950 and the building was transformed into Florissant Mortuary (now Hutchens Mortuary). Needing more space around 1970, the Hutchens family moved to their present location on Graham road.

A few more renovations converted the building into small office spaces until around 1990.

Weather worn and empty the building sat vacant from sometime in 1990 until our opening in June 2020.

In an effort to preserve the historic character of the structure we reconstructed the storefront to its original style, repurposed old growth pine flooring from another project, rebuilt the second-floor apartment, adding more contemporary styling but maintained the look and warm historic feel. The main floor received some much needed TLC, reconfiguration and structure improvements. View the slideshow to see the progress from demolition to partial rehabilitation.

Oh and there is a spring running under the property! Stay tuned for future updates on its potential use.
